Hello everybody,

As you may know, I'm building a Dirt Devil Gokart.

My Honda engine is slowly dieing and I can't be arsed to repair it. Reasons are stated in that topic.

Well, eehm, Fabroman convinced me to buy a complete motorcycle, so I could use brakes, headlights, engine, exhaust, air filter,... everything that's usable.

I've found this engine. A 150cc 5 speed engine from Zongshen. 4 stroke.

My question is: will this engine be powerfull enough to power my Dirt Devil gokart?
I prefer doing some donuts, burnouts rather than high speed. I'll use it off-road most of the times too.

Regards,
Nodroz

 No I didn't, you asked if I thought it would be a good idea & I didn't disagree :innocent: :D

Not sure if we covered this in our PMs but you will need to make a shifter & clutch (maybe I should've mentioned that ) &, with a swingarm setup, the shifter will need to be cable actuated.

Oh right, lol. Sorry. :p

Yeah, I figured that I'll need something like that. I don't mind, I love fabricating and trying out stuff. :drool5:

I think that you should be OK with a 150cc (bigger would be better though). I think if you gear it right you should be OK. It is not like you are going to need speed doing offroad, just torque.
