I have a runmaster 150cc go kart. It is the gy6 150 engine just like the chinese scooters. I finally got it running last night after sitting for 3 years but it cuts out. It only goes 10 mph and it cuts out and cant climb hills, is it getting flooded? Any advice or opinions will help.

thanks, blake

Sit it up on axle stands and slowly increase the throttle and it should run fine soon if that doesnt work, turn off the fuel supply and run it till it cuts out then turn it back on that will work if its dirt in th petrol :)

we had it sitting on axle stands before we actually took it out and drove it. While on the stands it ran fine but then we got it off the blocks and drove it and it started cutting out

I think im going to buy a new choke and rebuild the carburetor. I cleaned the carb and everything but it has been sitting for 3 years

Nope. It's the carb, go ahead and refurb it. A good and thorough cleaning is in order. Small passages can be easy to miss. Make sure when you do this to check specs for float level, jetting, and mixture screw adjustments if applicable.

Ok it is not cutting out now, it sounds like it is runnin good and can finally climb hills but it will only go 15 mph, something is still not right because it doesn't have the power it should. What could it be now?
