I'm minutes away and also have a 212cc Predator on a minibike that goes 47ish mph.
I also weigh 160 lbs.

I would love to race this guy.

They misspelled Honda.

Jiangdong isn't really close.

5.5 HP
168cc

It needs throttle cable.

And from his talking and my watching it start....

It probably needs a new clutch...
And maybe a throttle return.

The tires are huge.

It has a jack shaft.
Counting time when I get home.

It is mine for a week, so any parts need to be ordered by the morning.

I may need one of these
Throttle cable housing for hand grip throttle.
Some with kill switches

About 10-12 bucks

And one of these

Throttle cable with one side threaded

$20

Not sure how this works.
I think I need this too?
Not sure if my grip has the part that connects to the throttle cable housing.

Left and Right Hand Grips
$10

So just the cable needs replacing.
I overpaid for this one.
It is the correct length and threaded on both ends like the current set up.

I got this clutch.
I paid a dollar extra plus a dollar and change tax (this is an IL company I guess - there is a store close, but no go-kart stuff in the store).

BTW I'm Guessing it's a Baja Something (MB165)?

MB165 for 168cc?
MB200 for 196cc?

I'm going to need a throttle cable and grips for my build off, too. But I've got a ton of stuff to do before then. It doesn't even have a seat either. Wait....I can just slap down plywood and drive one handed and operate the throttle by hand! I've seen it done before with a gokart!!!!

Fleabay has whole kits for like $11 - $15

Some are posted in the mess above.
Ones like these.
I guess 7/8" or 22mm is pretty universal

I think I have something in my basket "saved for later" on my Amazon account. I will definitely want them before I start fabbing the front fork assembly....(that and a front wheel....which...if I follow the plan) should be pretty cheap but a monster to fab...(and I still don't....and won't have the details of it without some parts sourcing and head scratching) ....Fabbing the wheels are going to be the most time consuming and difficult part of the build....(you gotta get them right!)

That should actually be the Poboy way, you know? Poor or low budget circumstances when you don't have the funds for them thar fancy, newfangled twist grip throttles!

Duct tape and baling wire!

Did you just GAB on a budget?

I can't call this GAB - yet!
Also I am $70 over budget already, but I get to keep my Techuseh project and the TC. LOL

This Baja whatever is BIG.
Much Bigger than my TrailSport
Wish it had a 196cc instead of the 168cc.

I guess the price was too good for a Genuine Honda!

It will be something he won't grow out of.
And we can build up the engine (or swap it out - then build it up) as he learns how to ride it.

I am guessing Honda gx160 parts will fit this Jiangdong 168cc.
And if some gx200 parts fit the gx160, I may have some stuff for this engine.

It had a light, but now it is gone. So this must have the charging system too.

I should really take it out of my back seat.

Bbqjoe has a Baja too. His has an R200 on it....We've been trying to figure that engine out. His flywheel has magnets inside and there are coils under the flywheel for the light.

Yeah, I can ride a Baja comfortably, they are fairly large.
