13t Clutch Sprocket....

Hey, I am trying to get more low end torque and speed but still have some top end. I am wondering will a 13t clutch sprocket and a 72t rear sprocket be a good setup?

I kind of want to level it out. But i rather have a good start off but still have good speed. Because rite now my kart can barely pull me when taking off.

Rite now i am using a 10t clutch sprocket with a 60t rear sprocket.
Tire size is
Back tire is 16x8.0-7 And front tire is 145x70-6

I currently have a 72t sprocket and i need to get a new clutch sprocket because the 72t sprocket uses a #35 chain. And the chain i am using now is a #41

that ratio will make you go faster, but your take-off is gonna be not so fun

Confused on what a 7 to 1 is and a 9 to 1..
Can you just say what size clutch and rear sprocket..

lets just say #41 chain 10t clutch, with a sprocket with anywhere between 70 and 80t

But the problem is.. I can not find a sprocket that big for the #41 chain. The biggest size sprocket i can find for a #41 chain is a 60t...
Do you know where i can get a bigger one then 60t from?

I bought a 72t sprocket but it is for a #35 chain.. But i can always sell it if i find a bigger sprocket for the #41 chain..

You see the price on that? And pluss that wont work for my kart.. I have live axle with the hub. that whole is too small..
I am not trying to spend a arm and a leg for a sprocket..

Then try a 12 tooth clutch in #35 chain and 84 teeth on the axle. You are not going to like the performance with tires that big and a cent. clutch. It just doesn't work favorably. Also, use 40 chain not 41 because 41 is much weaker than 40.

Dangg.. I just bought this 72t sprocket for the #35 chain. This really blows! I might just leave my setup as is for now.

Yes there is more available sprockets out there for #40 chain. #41 is an odd size. Also, you can buy nickel plated chain which is stronger than basic steel and less prone to stretch. You should be able to get a 10ft section of it for around $75. Also stainless chain looks nicer than regular steel, but is softer and stretches more. So go with the #40NP

BMI has chain $2/foot and at that price it's worth buying more and replacing it as it stretches than to buy one for way more that is less prone to stretching.
