Brakes Mechanical caliper on 8" disc
Gear Ratio 6:1; 9t Jackshaft, 54t axle, solid axle, top speed of 40 mph.
Engine 389cc, 13 hp Genuine Honda GX390, shroud and tank painted black with orange accents.

GX390 dry fit, go kart frame

So here is the kart as it sits. It needs a LOT of work. Its got a heavy duty frame and will be getting a complete restore. Next item on the list will be removing the rims and painting them.

Gran pann, nice work buddy! Can't wait to see it done! Hopefully ill get my parts soon and i can get mine back up and running again! By the way a GX390 coupled with 22 inch tires is great fun in wet, muddy conditions! This is how dirty my kart got once! But well worth the fun!

You can get that from the grocery store. ....it's called white vinegar. ....I have painted many a galvanized object with a scuff sand and a vinegar wash......

rims painted

Got the rims painted. I wanted to keep these for myself since they were actually in great condition with no rust along the bead, which is rare. Have a little touch up work to do on them before i spray it with a few coats of automotive clear coat.

I will be pulling the axle and putting on new bearings next. I will also have to do a little frame work, figure out motor mount,reinforce motor mount area, and add an additional bearing next to the axle sprocket. Not feeling like making a video of all that, just pics for now.

I am REALLY digging this color. It just pops out there.

Mounted the little tires just with compressed air, wasn't so bad.

The big rims were very wide, so I caved in and used the lighter fluid method after attempting to use a rope, then ratchet strap. Worked out very well. I really like the big 22" kenda scoripion tires. They will last a long time and can really dig into the mud and dirt.
