125cc honda cub(lifan) motor for a kart?

ive recently gotten into kart building when i was able to get a few frames for dirt cheap
i didnt have any engines so i asked a few friends if they had any ideas
one of my buddies had a honda cub 50 with a 125cc lifan motor just sitting and he told me i could use it
well after looking at the set up of my frames i figured im gonna have to fab something and engineer it to work

anyone ever used a honda scooter/motorcycle engine for their kart?

ill try and get pictures up as soon as i can of the karts and the engine

yeah i was gonna try and not buy a new axle but ill probably have to go with a live axle

Using a bike engine with 1 wheel drive is like having a cookie but not eating it ( a really funkin good cookie). BMIkarts has axles from $25 +shipping.

Is that nylon string holding the exhaust on? If you havent used this set up yet, change that to metal before you start it up. Also, do you have pictures of the chain coming from the engine to axel?

yeah i dont know what that guy was thinking but i def wouldnt run anything like that

im pretty sure im gonna use a clone engine for my little cart and the one with a full cage will get the bike engine
