I have been checking out some engines and i would like to know as much as i can about the Chinese 125cc. I'm looking at the one on ebay that is semi auto three speed with reverse. I like the thought of being able to shift. So I'm wondering if it would be worth it to buy that engine, and then get a big bore kit. Maybe the 200cc kit. If i did, what kind of power range would i be looking at. I don't want to go super fast, just trail riding with my kids. I would like to keep up with my wife though. She has a Forman 400. Anyway, let me know your thoughts.

Could you post a link for the motor in question. Usually there is a ton of the Chinese stuff out there.

I don't get it: Why buy a 125cc then spend more money on a big bore kit, then spend even more money &/or time fitting it when you could buy a 250cc or bigger & be done with it (& probably save money too)

I keep seeing guys putting these monsters on their carts and they end up having to get a stronger axle, bearings and so forth. I just want to buy an out of the box engine with reverse, and i don't have a cover for tav so as soon as i drop off into some mud or water, it slips like crazy. I'm going to have to look at how i post a link to show witch one I'm looking at.

That is when someone sticks a 500cc engine on a kart.

Just copy and paste the link into your post

If you could post the link I think I mite have the engine your talking about 125cc three speed no clutch required with a neutral and a reverse. I would also like to look at the bore kit you were talking about I'm always interested in getting more out of that engine.

How is that any better? In fact, it's worse. That particular kit is for a 90cc engine, to take it out to 114cc.

The simple fact is a GY6 big bore kit will work on, you guessed it, A GY6 engine...

This is why I'm asking questions. Thanks for pointing out the noon compatibility. Besides, i took fabro's advise to heart. I'm looking at a250 instead. Its air cooled, for speed, with reverse.
