Ok thanks for your input. I think i will stay with the star clutch.It's been pretty good to me and i don't want to really cut my pto down just for it to fit.I would like to drop down on the stall engagement but if i can't do it without modifying my pto shaft i will leave well enough alone

You could experiment with stretching your stock springs till they're slightly longer, to lower the rpm engagement...
