Hey guys,

I've got one of those Chinese ATV's with the 110cc with a blown head gasket. I tried pulling the head off, but the head won't clear the frame. I'm attaching a picture so you can picture what I'm talking about.

Without taking the entire engine off, do I have any other options?

Could I take the head bolts out? If so, how does that work? I've never taken head bolts out before. Are they screwed in or just pushed in?

Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Eric

The studs are screwed in. You may be able to work them out with vise-grips or something, at risk of damage. You may have to bite the bullet and pull the engine.

Thanks Toystory,

Finally got them loose with vice grips. Damaged a few so I ordered a new set. I'd never pulled head bolts before so I wasn't sure how they worked. Just an amateur gearhead. Now I know. Thanks man!

Anyone know what the torque for the head bolts on this 110cc engine is supposed to be?
