I have a 110cc (import) 4 Spd motor out of a dirtbike. I was wondering how big could I go on the chassis without being underpowered? It says in the manual its 9hp at 8800rpm. I would prbably be friving it on grass and pavement so I haven't decided what type to build or if its going to be a locked rear or a one wheel drive. But if the motor wont be able to drive an off0road go-kart then I wont worry about the axle situation. Also I am 210lbs so I am not a little 10yr old, it needs to haul my fat *** around!

Go with a live (locked) axle, and a fairly compact chassis. Don't overbuild it, gear it appropriately, and I think it will a fun little toy.

When calculating gearing, bear in mind that with bike engines, there is a primary reduction between the engine and trans, usually about 3:1. So even though the engine tops out at 9k, the output shaft will be at about a third of that in top gear.
