*Addendum
In the tragic accident little Johnny lost his hands. Shortly afterwards he got some of those teeth like Jaws had in James Bond and used those to cut all the pieces.
As evidenced by the 1/8" plywood sides and sharp corners on the metal parts, little Johnny couldn't afford proper materials or tools and all those WWII vets that cared so much about his dream didn't care about his safety in the least.
As you can see by the tread left on the rear tire, little Johnny didn't use the bent door hinge scrub brakes at all even though he seemingly drove this kart hundreds of miles. Due to the loss of his hands he steered with his feet and dragged his arm stubs on the ground when he needed to stop. No one knows how he accelerated.
When the fire occured it wasn't hot enough to burn the "Main Frame" (it says that) which consists of some sort of lumber which you can see through the (lack of) grille. It was so hot it melted little Johnny's bag of gummy worms and made him sweat a little.
Johnny eventually decided to mount the windshield leaning into the wind (those great 50's aerodynamics) but later decided a random strip of wood would be more classy and effective. He also decided to spend the time fabricating parts to mount a speedometer, lights, etc. but then threw them out for whatever reason.
Johnny contracted tetanus from trying to cut rusty steel with his teeth and died.
As a side note, anyone want to make an offer for it? I think 99 cents is the minimum.
