1" shaft question

Is there a way to convert a 1" shaft to a 3/4" shaft?

Do they sell adapters? And would I have to modify anything or change anything for it to run my kart?

I am not sure whether they sell adaptors but you wouldn't need to do anything "special" persay for it to work on your kart. But It depends on what you end up getting.

I got connection with a friend of a friend that has a lathe. he made me a 1" to 5/8" adaptor for my engine.

Mcmastercarr sells them, but:

-They are expensive.
-They add a lot of leverage to bend the crank/wear bearings (not sure how much of a problem this is).
-They are very short, so fitting a clutch could be difficult.

It is likely best just to get another crank, have your's machined down, or to buy a 1" clutch (If you have a 1" crank your engine likely will overpower a 3/4" clutch).
