So I figured I mine as well start a new thread for this one since I have been all over the place in my posts. Currently realizing they also moved the brake master locating spot as well as the gas pedal linkage mounting spot. They also moved the pedal mounting spots which was dumb because they used pedal risers (maybe they moved them first and it didn’t work, idk) But I currently got it mostly taken apart and things cut out to reweld. The front end is definitely tweaked too, so I was going to take it to a chassis straightening place but in the end I normally get too deep into a project of my own that I can’t ever enjoy it. Going to try and bend it back until both front spindle mounting locations rest evenly and then going to use a self etching primer and some cheap paint or por15 instead of going with powder coating. I always want my stuff to be top notch but I can’t always afford it or my skill set doesn’t match my taste. I guess you could say champagne taste on a beer budget lol. My seat slides will be in today so I can measure and mount my pedal location which will be at least some progress in the right direction.

VT. If you are just going to use the kart for family entertainment I wouldn't pay anyone to straighten the front end. Seems like you are pretty capable in the shop, and as long as you can get both front tires to touch the ground at the same time and are able to control toe in and toe out you'll be OK. On my
Yerf-Dog, one wheel sits about 1&1/2" ahead of the other. Didn't even notice it for 6 months until I loaded on the front of my trailer. Something up there is sprung I guess, not visibly bent. Completely undetectable on dirt or asphalt.

It is in fact all it will be used for, sometimes I get carried away. Thank you for the confidence boost, I think you are absolutely correct and going to try and get them squared away tonight and see how it comes out! This forum is the best site I have ever found lol

So with the wife having decided she definitely wants to move, haven’t had much time to do any work on the kart but picked up another engine tonight for $80. Supposed to be bored out and have been in dry storage for awhile after a friends kid stopped racing but I’m excited to see if it runs and if not I’ll add it to the parts pile for my future build.
