    Gy6 150

OK - so if the relay is good, starter is good, battery is good - in theory there should be crank. Two potential issues are the ignition cylinder, and ground connections.

    Gy6 150

Hmm. Thats interesting that it just wont crank at all... The next thing to test is your starter. The video I posted above should tell you how, and heres a bit more about the starter itself

Try jumping the solenoid - screw driver across both screws. Report back with the findings. Also, make sure your battery has charge

What do you mean "rest"? The electric choke on those are pretty simple plug-and-play's that do not need a lot of tuning. Are you trying to adjust that?

A new problem! Lets figure this out

So these are vacuum powered for fuel. I screwed around with it today and ended up finding a disconnected vacuum line from air filter box.. freaking temperamental little bas****s aren't they. Ripped it around and it ran fine after that. Only got it up to 23 mph though (phone gps). So now I gotta...

A new problem! Lets figure this out

So, first off, thanks to those of you who helped in my first couple of threads. The kart will start reliably and man, that feels good! So, here's the new one for ya. I have a carbide 7150 with the beloved (lol) GY6. I got it running and driving, pressure washed it finally and didn't notice my...

    Quantum 7150 weird starting issue

OK everyone - got the solenoid in last night, installed my new brake light, and everything is now working great. Looks like the issue was within my solenoid itself. Great news! that made it a $12 fix!

Here is my $150 pick up from last night!

Well folks, she lives! I got home, took 5 minute to install new solenoid (and my new brake light!), turn the key and BAM! Cranks by key now! Fires right up again! its gonna be nice not having to jump the solenoid to start it. As of now, the only thing left on my to-do list is to finish the oil...

    Quantum 7150 weird starting issue

I am currently only getting hot on 1 terminal, so it looks like im good there (minimal voltage drop between battery and terminal too). I will check for matching wires once I get home tonight. Heres the fun part - I am supposed to have multiple fuses wired in with the rear harness, and yet I...

    Quantum 7150 weird starting issue

The manual you posted is actually the manual that I took that screen shot from, believe it or not. It is the same one I used to figure out the wiring mess on the kart to even get it started. That is, indeed, the part number that I ordered as well. Another thought I had for this - and I hope...

    Quantum 7150 weird starting issue

So, a lot of you saw my post about picking up the Quantum 7150 for $150 a little over a week ago. After some digging into the wiring and missing pieces, putting on a new carb, CDI, spark plug and a few other little things, I was able to start it! I had not yet gotten my ignition cylinder in the...

Here is my $150 pick up from last night!

The person you are trying to reach is no longer in service. LOL I dont think you want me as your resident expert on these carts. Push buttons and plug wires until something makes noise!

Here is my $150 pick up from last night!

It runs! I fooled around with wiring tonight, ended up breaking the old ignition cylinder so I could attempt a start on it, turned key to RUN and jumped the starter solenoid - after figuring out that my CDI cover kill switch was BACKWARDS, I jumped the solenoid and it fired straight up! I let...

Here is my $150 pick up from last night!

Does anybody have one of these karts? If so, can you do me a favor and take some pics of your wiring? I think im missing some fuses.. I could use a pic of starter relay/fuse, voltage regulator, generator, etc.. Im not having fun.

Here is my $150 pick up from last night!

Yeah, my favorite part is when it doesnt match the electrical diagram in the service manual :ROFLMAO:. Oh well, I am working through it and hopefully will figure it out. I went ahead and ordered/received a carb, ignition, spark plug and wire, fuel filter, and CDI - I got everything excluding the...

Here is my $150 pick up from last night!

Yeah i know i can dremel an area into the carb to get the floatbowl screws out. May try that so im not messing around with cheapo carbs. I am waiting on my battery to show up so I can jump the ignition and make sure she wants to turn, then ill get everything else coming! Yeah I feel lucky on...

Here is my $150 pick up from last night!

So, There I was browsing facebook marketplace just like all of us degenerates do. I stumbled across what was labeled as FOX GO KART, click the link and it looked pretty clean. Seller left 2 words on the entire post "Needs Carb." Asking price was $550. Now me not being afraid of a little...
