Looked into a new piston and ring. The head doesn’t have to many blemishes. What’s the best way to get those done. Dremel?

Most definitely will have to do that. This is going to be a “learning” engine for my son. He has taken a few apart in school shop class. Almost thinking about just buying a new head for it. What do you guys think??

Found what it was. Exhaust pipe muffler rivet. That was drilled out and a piece of it must have made its way to the piston housing. She is running now for how long it will be I don’t know.

However I did notice a knick on top of the piston head. But I didn’t see anything that could have caused that was lose. So that could have been my culprit I guess.

We bought the engine new. And it ran fine rite out of the box. Had it for a year or two and then it just died one day while the son was riding. The push rods don’t look bent at all. Had them on work bench rolling around. We didn’t upgrade nothing internally. Just the springs after it did this...
