What kind of gear ratio are you running? Top and bottom gears anyway? Any belt slippage?

    First build

Haha good luck with that! Good sealed batteries get expensive! Plus, you're probably going to need more than one. Getting them mounted and wired correctly and figure out how to keep them charged and worry about the drain from the weather....jeeze! I'd quit worrying about what everyone else...

    Need help with spindle

BMI Karts has something close to those spindles for yerf dog. It won't be perfect but if you're just wanting to play around, they're only $25 each. Not sure if they'll work or not but definitely worth checking out.

New Member to the group and I am in need of some help.

Same thing happened to my darn mower. Wiring got too close to the header and fried everything and melted a connector. It wouldn't make a sound but would run after bridging the solenoid. Every wire has to be retraced and check for burning. Make sure the ground wire isn't fried too. It's a pain...

    Yerf dog rebuild question

Completely normal. As you'll find, much of the parts are hard to find for yerf dog and even if you find them, your probably going to want to make slight adjustments. Switching the wheels and tires out might help too. I took off the turf tire and wheels off mine and went with a slightly thinner...

    First go kart build

That big of an engine, you better make sure whatever frame you buy can handle it. That's a lot of power, weight, and torque. I wouldn't cheap out here or go with something too small. You could end up snapping parts of the frame or even worse, someone could get badly hurt.

Also...if the cables are too expensive or hard to find, I've used hand brake cables for bicycles from Walmart and made my own. 4 of em for like $15. Work just fine.

    Tecumseh 10hp manco dingo help

Looks like quite a bit of slack on that throttle cable too. Sometimes you can just get the slack out of the line while it's running (be careful not to run yourself over), get it to the point right before she wants to go, tighten it down, and that'll give you a bit more gusto.

    New to Karts need direction

You've probably got a torque converter if it requires a belt. Clutches run on chains only and torque converters (TAV) run with a belt and chain. A pic would help tremendously.

    Go-kart for sale!

I have a custom yerf dog 3203 that I'm looking to sell if you're around the Knoxville TN area. New Tillotson 212 with electric start only ran one season. Running a 9T on the jackshaft (also have a 10T to go with it) and a 60T on the axle with a #420 JT racing chain. 30 series torque converter...

    series 30 vs series 40

You should do fine. I run an old Yerf Dog frame with a Tilly 212 (wouldn't think it'd be a huge huge difference verses for the predator 212). And I also use 20x10-8 mud tires on the rear with a 9 tooth on the jackshaft and a 60 tooth on the axle. The 30 series TC does get hot after a long while...

    series 30 vs series 40

I scraped my entire jackshaft and went with a TC with a 6" driven instead of the 7". Also switched to the 9 tooth top and tighter belt. I don't even use the belt guard anymore because of the heat. This isn't necessarily right but I scoot uphill now. Sling so hard sideways I snapped my engine...

Check the ignition coil and spacing...and make sure there isn't a loose wire deading things out.

    Wheel removal

Yeah the really fun part is after you get the tire off, you realize how rusted everything is to the axle and get fed up like me. That's when you get the saw-zaw and cut the old axle in multiple places and detach it from the frame. After about a week of working on it, I ended up just getting an...

    Wheel removal

I know exactly what you mean. The tire keeps the wrench from fitting properly on the nut. Exactly what I ran into. The wrench will have to be tilted out and you'll have minimal meat to grab but it can be done. No one can give you an exact size tho. Manco and Yerf-Dog (when it was still in...

    Wheel removal

Lol @Denny. I had bought 4 different sizes of sockets to find one to fit. Save some trouble and get yourself a large monkey wrench, adjust it, and get it off. If it's still a bit tight, hit it with a blow torch a little.
