    Struggling Go Kart

I took the Yerf Dog to my wife's family's farm this past weekend. My wife and I drove around the farm with our little girls. It was so much fun to finally drive around this kart until I decided to test the max speed. I was alone in the kart and I left my phone at the house because I was...

    Struggling Go Kart

Just an update for those who care. I installed the 8 tooth sprocket to the torque converter, finished installing the lights, mounting the battery, and moving the on/off switch under the steering wheel. The 8 tooth sprocket is perfect and giving the kart tons of low-end torque but still...

    Struggling Go Kart

Sid, Thank you for your help. I just ordered the 8 tooth sprocket and this should help out the engine a lot. I took the front sprocket off and it does have 10 teeth, 5/8 drive shaft, and 3/16 key way. So this 8 tooth should work. This kart does cruise at a faster speed I would like on the...

    Struggling Go Kart

This is the torque converter I have: https://www.bmikarts.com/Torque-Converter-for-35-41-Chain-34-Bore-TAV2-Replacement_p_2382.html Is there a different torque converter that would work better? Just guessing here but the weights are: kart - 300 lbs me - 260 lbs my daughter - 35 lbs total = 595...

    Struggling Go Kart

I recently got my Yerfdog Spiderbox going and I noticed the motor struggles at acceleration. I already have a 72 tooth rear sprocket and a torque converter from BMI. I have the 10 tooth front sprocket in the torque converter but I still want to go to a lower gear ratio to help out the 212...

If anyone here is interested in reading up on what today's PCP rifles can do, go on over to Airgun Nation. You can look me up there under the same handle/username. I have many posts where I talk about my air rifles.

First Post - Having problems with my hydraulic caliper

I ordered two sets of 8 inch rotors from Go Power Sports and installed one of them. The braking issues I was having is out the door with the rear wheels locking up with no problems. As you can see in the pictures, the thickness of the new rotor in noticeable. I was about to order a hold new...

First Post - Having problems with my hydraulic caliper

I had the mechanic come back yesterday again. After riding around the go kart, I've noticed the braking is not strong enough. The mechanic suggested installing bigger rotors than the 8 inch ones I have on now. I don't want to go back and re-position the the caliper for bigger ones. I'm thinking...

First Post - Having problems with my hydraulic caliper

Karttekk, Didn't have a problem getting the kart to go but getting it to stop was the problem. Just joking with you. I took my daughter around the neighborhood for a test drive and this kart vibrates so bad at certain speeds. The vibration actually loosed a couple of lock rings on the axle. It...

First Post - Having problems with my hydraulic caliper

The mobile mechanic got the brakes working. The problems were two things. One was this clip inside the caliper. The clip was keeping the brake pads from moving. The other problem was the brake caliper mounting bracket. The mechanic had to grind off a fraction of an inch so the brake pads didn't...

mckutzy, Thank you for clearing that up. I knew the law was something silly like that. 495 fps? Might as well just throw a rock. Feel sorry for you northern guys. Us Americans just don't know how good we have here but I guarantee it, we'll miss it the second it's taken away from us.

Brianator, Never heard of a Slavia 620. The only springer guns I have is a Diana 430L and two cheap chinese BB guns. One is a break barrel and the other is a barrel slide action pump. Barrel slide action is a really cool gun but I don't think you kill a fly with that gun. I got it because I...

First Post - Having problems with my hydraulic caliper

Karttekk, The brake caliper I have doesn't have an adjustment bolt. I just got off the phone with a mechanic and from what I describe to him, he thinks I might still have air in the master cylinder. I never bled a master cylinder before and is this normal to do for a go kart?

Karttekk, How do you adjust the brake pads? When I push on the brake pedal, I can see the brake pads move but not enough movement to stop the go kart.

First Post - Having problems with my hydraulic caliper

I've been working on this Yerf Dog several months and I'm almost done. The only thing I have left is getting the brakes to work. The master cylinder, brake hose, and caliper are new. No matter how hard I push on the brake lever, the caliper doesn't put enough pressure on the disc rotor. I used a...

I bought a used Yerf Dog last year for 300.00 and thought it was a good deal until I inspected the go kart closer when I got it to the house. After many hours of watching YouTube videos and working on the kart, I've became to like working on the go kart. My other hobby is air rifles. I'm...
