    80mph

It is a little unnerving but a dragstrip is as safe as you can get at that speed. Here’s a quick overview of the kart .... https://youtu.be/HgEeEo9fZus

    80mph

It’s a blast. It feels much faster than 80 because you’re so low to the ground. However the kart frame is designed for even higher speeds so it feels remarkably stable. As for the motor size, I believe you’re correct. It’s somewhat overkill. A smaller motor would be much lighter which would...

    Running 72V motor at 60V

Other than having fewer RPMS, are there any problems with running the 72 V motor and motor controller (in the link below) at 60 V? It seems like this would also reduce heat since the motor would be under-volted. https://www.thunderstruck-ev.com/curtis ... -16kw.html Thanks for any comments. Gary

Roll Bar Question for the experts

Thanks for comment. Karts are for competition racing only on race tracks. Not for recreational use. Consensus so far is “lose the roll bar”.

Error Code I can not clear - Curtis Controller 1236

I also noticed that the “Vehicle Controller Language” (VCL) was set to “on”. As soon as I moved J1-22 and J1-33 to 54V (pack voltage) and switched the VCL to “off” it worked. I really appreciate your responses as well as all of the others. You guys are great.

    Standard size electric motors?

Others can correct me if I’m wrong but I believe that approximately 750 Watts equates to 1 hp. Therefore 7500 W would equal 10 hp.

Error Code I can not clear - Curtis Controller 1236

Hey Sir. Thanks for your response. I talked to the manufacturer and they been incredibly helpful. It appears to be a shorted wire leading from the throttle pot box to the controller. I will try a few more experiments tonight. I will let you know how it turns out. Thanks again for trying to help.
