Engine issues, and caught on fire.

I would agree with KartFab. If the exhaust got hot enough with gas on it, it could ignite, and then fall onto the chain like you said it did. Another word of advice... If your go kart is on the smaller side, you shouldn't need a seatbelt. If you somehow roll over, you would want to be thrown...

    Engine pops and crackles

Just read through this.... On my predator 212, I adjusted the idle screw on the carb so that when the engine decelerates, the engine pops and crackles. It sill revs up fine. Is this safe for the engine? Also got a custom intake on it and a custom header

    Please Help!!!

I had the same problem with mine. The idle is set too high. It'll start moving if the kart is light enough and the idle is high. Just back out the black plastic screw on the carb and you should be good. The clutch is working fine Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Motor swap or torque converter?

If you don't want to spend the $$ for and 420 and a tc, then the easiest thing would be just to change gearing and or tire size, like bob58o said. Riding around the yard with your daughter, you probably won't want to go that fast anyway. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Motor swap or torque converter?

A torque converter will give you a little low end torque, not a lot though. What engine is on it? If you are really serious about it, then you could get a Predator 420 and a 40 series torque converter. Then you shouldn't have a problem

Ok I'll check that out, thanks. I think it may be loosely based on a old Honda Odyssey.

    New Member, Few Questions

Hello all. New member from Iowa! I have roamed around this site for awhile. I currently have two go karts. One is for sale. The other one is running and driving pretty good. I attached a few pics. It runs really good on the road, but off road it is a little bouncy. It obviously has no...

    Drift trike

I would go ahead and modify the frame to accommodate a whole rear axle assembly. So that would be an axle, bearings, real tires, etc. Like the kits you can get from Gopowersports. http://www.gopowersports.com/live-axle-kit-complete/ If you just use those plastic tires, they are gonna be gone...

Look for some parts on Amazon. I know they have somewhat cheap spindles and pedals and other parts. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    MCP hydraulic brakes

Disk brakes are way better than band. I got two karts, one with a band and the other with a mechanical disc. The disc stops so much better than the band. I drove race karts with a disk setup just like that one, and it is a performer. Very good for the price. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
