    10HP Cart

Also, every time you run high rpm's and then turn back the throttle, or turn of the engine, there is a loud "BANG". What causes that? If I want to install an exhaust, what do I attach it to? I know ..... what have I gotten myself into often comes up in my mind too!!! :ack2:

    10HP Cart

The Tecumseh 10hp engine came from a snowblower. The way the engine is configured (i guess) is to run at ideal rpm's for operation of the snowblower. How do you remove that, so you can actually control the throttle? Is it pretty easy or not? Is there a step-by-step process available somewhere...

    10HP Cart

Thanks Kaptain. Yeah, I want to put a live axle on it, I just wanted to temporarily mount the wheels to see the height, etc. It looks like I am going to need new rims and tires anyway, as the ones I have are welded onto the axle. Unless someone has a good idea how to get them off the axle. They...

    10HP Cart

As you can see, it is kind of wide, that's because I'm still not sure if I am going to go single or two-seater!

    10HP Cart

Finally got started, bought a 160 Amp Arc Welder ... man what a *****:mad2: :censored: to learn how to do it, the welds are not exactly clean, but they are strong! The wheels are temporary. Still have to add some reinforcements, but this is the general idea for the frame. Now waiting till I...

    Pipe vs Tube

In the introduction of the DIY gokart webpage, the talk abou tthe different materials you can use. They mention to use either steel tubing or pipe. When they talk about pipe, are they referring to plain old conduit? That is galvanized steel right? Not sure how that work with welding? It sure is...

    Wheels

I tried to take the weels off of my Ariens 1024 snowblower, but I can't get them off!! :censored: They are a little big for what I want anyway, but for future purposes, does anyone know how to take them off? It almost seems as if they are welded to the axle!A Anyone have any great ideas where...

    Will This Welder Work

Please see this welder at walmart. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=8727990 Will it do the trick when making a cart with 1 inch square tubing? Will it create strong enough welds for engine brackets, sprockets, brakes, steering, etc?:auto:

    Newbee trying to make cart

Thanks for the advise! I took the Tecumseh engine off of my old snow blower this morning. It is actually a 10HP (HMSK100). This snowblower also has great wheels and tires, but I cannot get the wheels off the axle, it seems they are welded on. Any suggestions how to take them off? What should I...

    My First Kart: Nitrous + 358cc = PAIN #2

Your cart looks awesome!! Do you think if I build a 2-seater, with the engine mounted behind the seats, it would still fly with the 11HP Tecumseh? By the way, what is the casing around the sprocket on the drive shaft? Thanks man

    Newbee trying to make cart

:surrender: I guess you understand that I know nothing about mechanics, but really want to make a kart. I want to build a basic kart, no suspension, just engine, brake, throttle (and steering of course!) So lets say I will use the Tecumseh (I believe it's actually an 11HP) snow blower engine...

    Treadmill vs. snowblower

I have been wanting to build a go kart for many years. I do not have a lot of electro-mechanical knowledge. Right now I have a used treadmill motor (3HP, 130VDC, 21Amp, 3300RPM), and am wondering if it is a good motor to make an engine with. I have researched a little and it seems that with a...
