    Destroyed

Maybe it’s just gunk or the lighting, but there’s a spot I might hit with a rat tail file or sumthin. It looks too jagged to me. it seems I can’t add images but the center part of the driver unit has 4 rounded grooves. One looks jagged in the photo.

Go Kart made from a Hand Truck (dolly)

Straightened out legs. Locked knees. Seems like a bad position to be in if you get into a crash. My knee hurts just thinking about it.

    Burning up belts.

With 22” tires, 6:1 gear ratio will work much better. I’m not sure what size your jackshaft is or what is the current pitch of chain you are using. If you can find sprockets that work (preferably with #420 chain or #40) to give you 6:1 ratio (like 10T and 60T) then you’ll be good. Correct that...

    Burning up belts.

Try a 60T rear sprocket. And maybe a 12T front sprocket. Let us know what diameter the tires are.

    Burning up belts.

39/14 =2.786…. There’s your problem. what size diameter are “standard” tires? If your tires are 18” diameter, you are geared to do about 86 mph at 4500 RPM

    My New Toy

My pops passed when I was 7 in 1990, but if I remember correctly he had a 5.0 Cadillac that looked sumthin like this… but maybe it wasn’t 5.0. By 1990, we were rocking a Suburban.

    My New Toy

I’ll take your word over AI. Damn lying AI stroked out and said the 1965 Race Hemi (A990) had Aluminum Heads. The 64 Race Hemi (A864) had iron. A990 was available in the 65 Dodge Coronet or 65 Plymouth Belvedere Perhaps we are looking specifically at the ‘64 A864 version? It seems the info came...

    My New Toy

So the internet lied to me about the heads? Iron vs Aluminum? 12.5 CR vs 10.25?

    My New Toy

I was just quoting more testimony from Marisa Tomei. lol. Miss Mona Lisa Vito told me the race Hemi had a CR bump to 12.5 :1 from 10.25 :1. But I also read sumthin about Aluminum heads and a magnesium intake. Camshaft? Solid lifters? Stiffer valve springs? Headers?

    My New Toy

Chevy didn’t make a 327 in ‘55. The 327 didn’t come out until ‘62. And it wasn’t offered in the Bel Air with a 4 barrel carb until ‘64. However in ‘64, the correct ignition timing would be 4 degrees before TDC.

    Calculator for Gear Ratio/Linear Speed

Yes Pi (to me) will always include 5 decimals spots…. Because I always have to “cheer” it… Sine, Cosine…Cosine, Sine… 3.14159

    Calculator for Gear Ratio/Linear Speed

Teach the process. Calculators are for the weak Step 1… Find circumference A) Find tire diameter in inches, because ‘Merica… B) Divide inches by 12 to find diameter in feet. C) Multiply Diameter in feet by 3.14159 to find Circumference in feet. Step 2… Find Gear Ratio A). Count teeth on big...

Predator 212 with 30 series TC, rpms too high?

Did we ever do this? Utility engines are designed to run at 3600 rpm. This nut holds the throttle pivot in place. When you switch a snowblower to “run” it goes. Unless you loosen this, when you switch your engine to run, it’ll go too. da yellow one… And add an extra return spring to make sure...

    I'm Stumped

Are there aftermarket ratio rocker arms? I know certain engines need a spacer or aftermarket valve cover to prevent the interference between the valve cover and the rocker arms.

    Engine doesn't run

That’s a new one. Would have never crossed my mind. Still no clue what you doing when checking compression. Just pull the spark plug, cover the hole with your thumb, and pull the cord.if you feel pressure trying to push your thumb…👍

    Engine doesn't run

We’ll wait until you check for spark. I was actually thinking of a remote kill switch that was the “new” switch. Is this end connected to anything? Low oil sensor? Remote kill switch?

    Piston install trouble.

It’s been a minute… but no, I don’t think the ring compressor sits in the cylinder. The piston skirt should be fitting inside the cylinder. Some lube, the butt end of a hammer, should do it. I did buy a wedge type last time when the cheap ratchet style stopping doing it for me. I had no issue...

    Engine doesn't run

don’t do that. We’ll get it running for you. If there is spark, that’s good. Well check timing next. Did your camshaft / crankshaft timing dots align when you put the camshaft back in? Did you install a flywheel key on the crankshaft when installing the flywheel? Did you set valve lash when the...
