I also recently installed a new tav2, with maybe 15 hours on the belt ... lots of black dust, some visible belt wear ... I think yours is fine. I did measure things as you asked: driver .55", driven .83
Have fun kartin!
"swap the holes where the brake rods and return springs are mounted. The hole farthest out on the arm will give you more mechanical advantage (i.e. power)which will help."
Good eye, you're good man! :idea2:
Thanks for the welcome and for all the help you give folks here great!
Got the kart drive train all set up today with a new tav2 ( thanks to advice I got here) and took a ride down the trail, works really nice.
Have fun karting!

Howdy!
New to karts, trying to fix one up for my nephews and become uncle of the year ... they are age 9 and 13 I'm going to surprise them with this off road cart after I get it running well.

I'm trying to install a comet 30 onto a Tecumseh 8 hp snowblower
engine, the crankshaft is short ... leaving just 3/8" for the hub driver. Is there a keyed sleeve made to make my 3/4" into a longer shaft 1"? If so I could send back this 3/4" comet and order a 1" ... or ????
Thanks!

Just picked this kart up, anyone know who made it and what model year?
It has a "X" emblem welded onto the front of the kart ... engine is not the original.
THANKS!
