    First build ever!

Governor is already gone lol. First thing I did after I ran it on the test stand for the 3 hour break in. But I've made my decision, torque converter it is. Please, no more gearing posts! I've had about all I can handle haha.

    First build ever!

Thanks for the help! So do you think I can make 45mph with the torque converter? I will be doing a lot of blazing through trails probably maxing aroun 25-30 but there will be plenty of times where I'd like to be doing 45 or faster because this will see some street use out on back roads. I will...

    First build ever!

My first go kart build! I've been wanting to do one for years and this is the first chance I've ever gotten. I took a welding shop class this semester at college. I bought plans from spidercarts for the scorpion design and sort of made my own touches to it. I haven't finished it yet but here is...

    Wheel to fit 12" tire

^ive decided for now that I'm just going to run two side by side knobby tires. I'm going to be spending a lot of time off-road with it.

    Wheel to fit 12" tire

I'm looking into building a scorpion go kart. The only issue I have is, the back wheel is supposed to be a 12" tire. I can't find anything this wide anywhere.

    Hello everyone!

I think I've decided I want to build a scorpion kart! It comes with like a 70 page instruction manual for the blue prints. Plus, I already have a perfect set of tires for it to tackle dirt and gravel.

    Hello everyone!

Yeah I know about that stuff:) I should actually be able to make the steering components work. But I already planed on getting a new axle. All I have right now are ideas. I still have to break the mowers apart to see if there is anything I can use. But even if I can salvage only the pedals and...

    Hello everyone!

Assuming I can't get anything but pedal assemblies off the mowers, I've already priced out a 12 tooth clutch, 53 tooth drive sprocket, #35 chain, 1"IDx40" live keyed axle, tinytach tachometer, predator motor, and a few other things. But the plan is to scavenge as much as possible to keep the...

    Hello everyone!

Well I'm planning on building a mild dirt cart. I don't have the mowers yet so I haven't been able to dissassble them to see what's inside! I was hoping to scavenger the clutch and drive sprocket as long as it's a decent tooth count. And the wheel/tire set up on one of them is exactly what I...

My Kart - Have Any Suggested Design Improvements?

I'm confused as to what that sprocket welded to a nut on the drive chain is? I've never seen that before. Is it some sort of tensioner?

It's "Vintage", it must be worth a lot....

You know people though. They think that just because they have something old, it's automatically worth much more. For 800$, you could build a bigger, faster, and much more fun go kart than this thing. but if vintage carts is your think, this could be cool restored.

    Hello everyone!

My name is travis and I'm beginning my go cart project. I'm taking a welding class at my college and am building the cart for my semester project. On top of that, I teach an engine repair class at the school where the first two weeks we spend learning how to rebuild small engines. So I'm very...
