I'm confused as to what that sprocket welded to a nut on the drive chain is? I've never seen that before. Is it some sort of tensioner?

You know people though. They think that just because they have something old, it's automatically worth much more. For 800$, you could build a bigger, faster, and much more fun go kart than this thing. but if vintage carts is your think, this could be cool restored.
