First Kart, First Rebuild, First everything!

It seems odd that a type of exhaust port would exit into the air filter where it could just be sucked back into the carb. I get thats its intent, but I dont personally understand it. Wouldnt it be better just to feed that tube off into the open air rather than the carb? Could I?

First Kart, First Rebuild, First everything!

Had some issues starting it up today. Not sure if the 110+ degree weather is effecting it. Took the air filter off and shot some carb cleaner in and it fired up. Drove it for about 10min and this is what my engine looked like. http://youtu.be/9ndOtku-cDQ...

First Kart, First Rebuild, First everything!

So I got the kart pretty much done. I think it idles just a little high, what do you guys think? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvg8Iaf6Yr8 The breaks still need some adjusting. They are really hard to press down to get it to stop. And the lights worked when I dry fit them to make sure...

Manco Dingo, Brake Caliper (is the manual wrong?)

So Im finally in the (I broke it, think i fixed it, now Im gonna try and put it back together) phase. When I removed the Caliper originally from the kart and broke it down I laid everything out in order of how it went back together. I rebuild the calipers with new pins and pads. But when I...

    Tire help

Thanks for the reply. I dont plan on going any larger, as the back tires are already pretty big. Its next to impossible to find any kind of other tire besides knobby for the back wheel. The back tire is currently 22x11-8, and the front is 145/70-6(15x6-6?), could I replace them with 20x10-8...

    Tire help

Got a manco dingo 285, I think, its got a 22x11-8 tire on the back now. I'm trying to find a sawtooth style tire to go on here in that size it doesn't really seem to b an option. I found turf tires by Carlisle that are close. Am I stuck with the 22x11-8 knobby's? I figure I can go...

    Setting up my wiring

Also, I had seen these in a previous build here. http://www.plasmaled.com/high_power_module.htm But if the kart puts off AC, should one of these be fine then? http://www.plasmaled.com/AC-110V-240V-HIGH-POWER.htm

    Setting up my wiring

Thank you, Sid! Yeah, sorry I don't know all the terms very everything just yet. The green does come off the ignition coil and the red/yellow are bunched together in a shroud that is fed back near the magneto(?). Kind of sucks, I already got an LED headlight too. At least the break light I...

    Setting up my wiring

Im putting everything back together again (took lots of pictures) but I don't know anything about electrical really. My kart (Manco Dingo) doesn't have a battery and runs the headlight straight off the motor. But the previous wiring doesn't really make much sense to me and Im trying to figure...

    Replacing break pads

LOL, yes, it is brakes. I know very little mechanics so not really used to talking about them :P  This is a total rebuild of a kart I got at a yard sale, so I am totally new to this. When I tore the old BRAKES apart the old pads just fell out, nothing holding them there, either one. I...

    Replacing break pads

I have a Manco Dingo with mechanical disk breaks. I got some replacement pads for the mechanical disc breaks. But I cant for the life of me find info on how to install them. Do the pads really just sit inside the break hubs, on top of that little metal plate? No type of adhesive or anything to...
