Solid Rear Axle Swap on the Bugatti

Here's the latest guys on my Bugatti pedal car. Been too long on the progress front (the flu has made it's round through the house) but just recently I was able to get a complete redo complete on the rear wheels. I was having trouble with getting a solid mount of our bicycle wheels, as well as...

    Race Number for the Bugatti

Although not exactly a major technical achievement I was able to get some time together and hand paint a racing number to add to the vintage racer look of the Bugatti this past week: I did both sides and am pretty pleased with it. I know for a fact this thing is going to get destroyed so I...

The Bugatti Kart Radiator and Grill

Although my grill and radiator are totally fake (in fact this kart doesn't even have an engine!) I still am pretty pleased with it and wanted share with you guys.. I wanted it to be similar to the original Bugatti grill: I drew up a rough shape (and had a friend whip up a custom logo!) I...

    Suggestions on a 110 Welder?

I'm looking for suggestions for a 110v wire feed welder. I'm not looking to say build the Eiffel Tower, but something to use to construct a kart frame, etc. I'd like something small, that doesn't require gas, wire feed, etc. Any suggestions? Thanks! Jas

    Homebuilt Bodies?

I'm curious what others do for body work? Understandably most karts we see have a serious frame, maybe a roll cage, etc. but typically don't have much in the way of bodywork. I'd love to hear what others are doing in building custom bodies for their karts. Fiberglass? Wood? Plastic? Thanks, Jas

    Progress w/Steel Body

This weekend I made some great progress on the Bugatti kart I thought I'd share with you guys (and gals). It may not seem like much but I put in a few hours to trim and mount a sheet of steel across the back of the body... It really came out great. Next will be to remove wheels, exhaust, etc...

    Spindle Resource?

I'm curious as to the consensus is around spindles for home built karts? Not racing, but just simple fun/project karts. I'm trying to source simple spindles that aren't welded to an existing frame, etc. and wanted to see what others have come across here. Northern Tool (see here ) has...

    Pedal Kart?

I'm curious if anyone has done much in the way of pedal karts? Not say a simple back-and-forth pedal, but something akin to using a bicycle crank? First thing to my mind would be to use a motor, as most of the list is doing... but for this first pass kart I'm making it pedal and am wondering...

    Steel Body Work Added

I've recently made some progress on the steel body work and fake exhaust on my bugatti kart. Not museum quality, but I'm still please with the progress... besides the boys and I are having a blast building it! In the next few days I should be able to get the tail section steel in place...

    Spoked Wheels?

I'm curious if anyone has had any success with using spoked wheels? I'm building a kart using 16" bicycle wheels, but I'm curious if anyone has any experience using wheels from say a scooter or similar? I could go hog wild and use motorcycle wheels (such as Cycle Karts but I'm trying to keep...

    Bugatti Inspired Kart In Progress

Hi All... I'm located near Sacramento. I'm building a Bugatti inspired kart for my three small boys. You can check out more on the work at TheGoKart.Wordpress.com. I started off intending it to be pedal, investigated electric, only to come back to pedal power for simplicity... but would love...
