So you have this old torque converter and don't know what to do with it...

I'll just chime in with this idea.

    Manco 8192 Drive Belts (3), $30

Free shipping to contiguous 48. These appear to never have been mounted. They came in the "Oh and you get this box of parts too!" box. They measure 31.25 inches circumference (measured with a fabric tape). Check by mail is fine; I'll ship when you tell me you mailed it.

Repair or Replace Manco Dingo TC

New to me model 390-00. It appears to have been rode hard and put away wet, as they say. The TC spring was hanging out like it needed more fresh air. I was thrilled to find that GoPower can sell me springs and buttons. What I don't know is whether this unit is beyond saving. Note that on...

Barker Parade Vehicle #6: Ready for static power test.

This started life as a riding mower (as all of my vehicles have). For this one I moved the front axle back about 8" and rebuilt the steering column. Behind the seat is the ubiquitous Predator, stock, #40 chain, band brake, one side driven. The bogey side is bronze bushings. You'll see...

Review of Harbor Freight Mini Tire Changer

First, let's have a smile or two over the picture on the front of the manual. It shows the tool, yes; however, the aluminum cone is in the wrong place, as is one of the plastic bushings, and the tire shown is not one which you could change! It looks as if it were stolen off a kid's Radio...

Question: Driven end of TAV2 right out of the box

Specifically the TAV 30-75 from GoPower. I have read all I could find and have dealt with the shorter Predator shaft and the sheave flats alignment. The castle nut on the driven shaft is finger loose. Not even finger tight. I can't find a torque spec for this. What needs to happen...

Tire-Rim situation plus a bonus question

The project is a riding mower chassis converted to parade vehicle. Novelty is way more important than speed. I purchased a pair of the wheels on the left from BMI, item 260388, described as "8 x 8.5 rim." The rear tires, shown on the stock rim, are 18 x 8.50 x 8. The rims are exactly the...
