Hi can someone tell me how to get a sprocket and brake off an old axel? Im new to this and the axle has a key or keyway. Should I heat and tap ? I want to re use the axle and anything else I can. Thanks Dan

Dan from Morgan Hill Ca. I'm retired and have time to build a kart for my grand kids. Always wanted to build one and now with the help of this forum I will. Bought a wig welder and have been practicing . I will post photos when I start the build and I'm sure ask a lot of questions. Thanks Dano
