Thanks. Basically what I need to use a 11HP motor with a 1" clutch. Thus far I've been told that due to that combination of HP and shaft size I need to use a torque converter. So I assume I would need a clutch and a torque converter, but whose? What size? What more do I need to know? I am...

I was told that they do not have a clutch for a 1" shaft where the horsepower is greater than 8. Apparently I need to buy a torque converter as well if I want to use that engine (8HP, 1" shaft).

Half-Breeder, All, I received this from MFG Supply: "we have centrifugal clutches for a 1" shaft but only rated up to a 8hp we have clutches for a 3/4"shaft rated up to 13hp" This is getting complicated. I have a 11HP engine. If I understood MFG correctly I could go with a 40-Series Torque...

Hmmmmm...GoKartGalaxy just informed me that they don't have a clutch for that much HP (11HP). I should hear from the others tomorrow. What is it about the clutch your URL points to that is different than the others? Thanks for the patience...on a learning curve here...

Excellent! Thank you very much. The engine is 11HP. Greatly appreciate the help and thank you! Best, Lyman

No sir, no wire(s) of any kind.

Thanks. I wish I had a setup to show you, still working on that. I really need 25 hour days, lol. Do you have a good source for this 1" clutch? Is there a specific 1" clutch I should be looking for? Again, thanks. This forum is really great! Lyman

Gotcha, many thanks for the information. Can you recommend a good source for a clutch? Prior to ordering to I need to know the final drive ratio at the wheel? Haven't figured that out yet. Also, what size clutch would be used for this Predeator 346cc? Thanks again!

Greetings All, The silver piece to the immediate right of and a few inches below the exhaust manifold; what the heck is that? It does have a small hole which opens into the manifold. Also, there are various threads at different points on the block. I assume these were cast this way for...

I think it's the way I am explaining it. If I hold the throttle open the engine will not return to idle but rather will remain at whatever speed that throttle setting provides. When releasing the throttle it will return to idle due to the nut being loose and the spring tension. As shown in...

Oh, not at all. It is returning to idle because I have significantly loosened the throttle lever which is returning to idle. I'm pulling on it and for the most part letting it return by itself. The intent is to ultimately to run a cable to the pedal on a Kart. ...now, to defeat the Governor...

That is actually a very helpful video, thanks for posting that! Lyman

Again, thanks. I've made a very short video of what I believe is the Governor kicking in. Note that when I pull the throttle lever to the left you can see the arm directly underneath the fuel tank move to the right and then snap back to the left; that is not me releasing the throttle. Am I...

Are you replacing the governor spring as well? Thanks!

That was actually very helpful. What have you done to loosen the play on the throttle arm? As new, it's bolted pretty tight and quite stiff. Thanks!

Thank you very much for the detailed reply, very much appreciated. What clutch do I want to buy for this? Any recommendations? As mentioned I am building a Go-Kart for my Grandson and am unsure what I need in terms of a clutch for the 346cc engine. As far as the governor goes, back in the day...

Why is it that the governor will not function unless the engine is running? Many thanks!

I agree about the extra $50 being worth it, but the 212cc I had purchased went back. The holes in the mounting plate were so close to the edge that any given amount of stress would have caused that plate to crack. When I went to exchange it they (HF) did not have any of the 212cc's left in...

Thanks. I began to wonder if that were the case. Thanks for confirming it! Lyman

Thanks! I really appreciate the information! Lyman
