Pulled off the muffler, CVT cover, and airbox. Tried to get different angles of the cvt while revving.

I like this suggestion, I will try this and see if the variator pushes the belt out with no load (wheels raised).

Entire CVT is brand new. I did not lubricate it when I installed it - I figured that would make the belt slip. I have a can of dry spray lube for my saws that I can spray on the clutch and variator though if they're supposed to be lubed.

That's been replaced, that was definitely loose initially and letting in air because one of the two nuts was missing
