    New "Karter"

Greetings, motorsport friends! I have returned to the "Font of Gokart Knowledge" to drink deeply on the subject of....Voltage Regulators. There are 2 wire connections on the motor near the starter. One appears to be a 2 wire connection to the low oil sensor the other one a two wire connection...

All good..... This motor has no pull starter so it was either I waited until all my wiring was done to use the electric starter or use the drill. Since I am not a good "waiter" DeWalt came to the rescue. Believe me... the drill and my wrist wished it was otherwise......lol. Thanks BBR....I'll...

So last night I found my way out to my barn (again...) to do some work on the buggy's wiring. As always, I was putzing around the beast looking for missing items and other opportunities to improve, when suddenly I was inspired to check the carb settings (which I had not touched yet). So I...

Great....thank you. So positive battery to positive solenoid it is. For the sake of expanding my knowledge a bit, what does that wire do?

    New "Karter"

Yes.. my mistake.I think that was mentioned by someone earlier that they did come with 11 hp stock and electric start. There is no grinding on the mounting plates or block, so I think it is set up for the 11.

So in addition to the large cable from the battery to the solenoid and the 16 gauge wire running from switch lug B to the lug on the solenoid, I would also need a 16 gauge fused wire from the positive battery terminal to where on the solenoid?

Thanks KT. There is only one lug on the coil with 2 black wires connected to it, so I think you're right. Maybe they had kills in two locations cock pit and at the motor.

Thanks much for the feedback folks. It is greatly appreciated. Today, I returned the Predator to HF and went all in on the 11 hp. I spent some time laying out the switch wires based on your guidance and also on clues I found from the colored wire remnants on the cart itself. Progressing...

    New "Karter"

That would be much appreciated. There are a few areas that have the remains of some colored wire "nubs" where I was trying to logically make connections. The switch was one (pic). The coil was another...it has the plug wire and 2 black wires (lugged) which look to possibly connect to a lug...

Thanks folks....awesome guidance. It sounds like the 11 is the way to go. Now I just need some help in redoing the wiring. The youngster that had it before me pretty much cut 1/2 the wires off. I have some clues as to what goes where but no schematic. Any leads I can follow?

If I can manage the speed to keep the kids safe, I would definitely prefer to go that route. I was hoping the conversion to a new motor would speed up the plan but I think the rest of the drive train will cause me just as much grief.
