Good news, everyone! I just found out that the engine of the golf cart is actually a huge component of the swing arm! Kinda thinking about using 2 upper snowmobile control arms, then building a subframe for them to mount to for the front. I'm also thinking that a thick enough solid steel plate...

Which, sadly, is exactly what I'm NOT looking for... I am looking for bushings to use as pivot points on the a-arms. Might end up needing to fab my own...

Any idea what is meant by "1-2 TL Bushings (1" diameter, 2" length and takes a 5/8 bolt)"?

Going to start laying out the new subframe. Am just too friggin' tired and sore from yesterday's race to do much of any heavy work today. Course was so bad, FOUR ambulances were called, AND a girl had to have MEDEVAC LiFlight.

Got the front axle apart. Just need to get a longer spindle bolt, some joints, and longer tie rods. Can only post 1 pic at a time from my iPad... And I wasn't the one to round the head. A classmate was. He decided a socket that was 1/16" too big was a good idea...

Yep, twas! Today, I'm going to start laying out the arms, front sub frame, and modifying the spindles a little bit. But, before I can get it all mounted up, I need 8 spindle brackets for the arm mounting points.

No easy way of getting to it... I'll try to get a pic tomorrow to show what I mean.

(16-17/17) The last leaf spring, the left one, has a stripped bolt head because a "genius" decided to go straight for the impact wrench... Any ideas as to how to get it out without ruining/damaging the spring/floorboards?

PICKLE FOR FTW!!!! Got the tie rods off, then removed the whole front axle. Going to need to get it broken down before 10 am tomorrow, because I am headed out to Vermont for a mountain bike race... That's a 4.5 hour chunk taken out of my build time!

I've got a LLLOOOOOT more pics on an actual camera that'll (hopefully!) be uploaded later tonight. But, the tie rods appear to be frozen to the center kajigger...

I have more on an actual camera, but need my laptop to upload. Anyone by any chance know how to remove the tie-rods? No clue why pics are upside down... Or only showing one of 4...

I've taken quite a few, but don't have a reliable way of posting them... Give me but a few minutes, and I'll try to post a couple.

Well, since tearing it down to bare chassis and mechanicals, I've been able to find out what it needs: swingarm boot, coil over conversion (f/r), independant front, the 370 sled motor, a few other miscalaneous boots, and refurbishing the brakes.

Got a lot of progress on the tear-down of the golf cart today! Should be able to get more pics and more progress tomorrow.

Well, hauled the golf cart out of the woods today! Upon further examination, it would seem that converting IT into an XXL go kart is going to be easier... SO! What do you guys think? Custom chassis with scavenged parts, or EZGO-derrived buggy?
