I'd start with checking weights in driver side. That belt also looks completely fried. I'm betting belt and weights sticking

j know about pis and their linux. I had never heard of one being used as a dash cam and was wondering if there was something dash cam variety os such as retro pi etc.

what software would be run on pi? haven't really heard of anyone basically building dash cam. Pretty interesting.

mine does the same thing. same gearing I have predator 212. I think it is the gearing slightly too high. I just send it. one day I'll change it out. ct200u ex stage 1 here.

blackvue 2 channel. a little pricey but front and rear cams can be setup to always run even if you arent in car. with a small addition will shut down if your car battery gets to low.

rear axle mounting kind of looks like it was made for the large knobby tires. maybe it is just angle of the pics.
