Bolted the front end together for good. Only thing left up front is a tab on the passenger side spindle, Reinforcing both spindles, packing the bearings and tie rod ends.
Built a battery tray. Just need to finish building the hold down clamp.
1" jackshaft I ordered has been sitting at a FedEx terminal for the last 8 days. I ordered another one, this on from BMI karts with expedited shipping.....
Received the steering joint that goes with the rack and pinion. I had to shorten the original steering shaft. Installed a heim joint to support the steering shaft. Also installed an extra small led light. It won't do a whole lot. It's just in case we get caught out after dark. Pulls 1.5...
Got the rear sitting on the wheels now. I had a feeling these chinese shocks were going to be too stiff and they are. While bouncing on the rear rack I get about an inch of travel. So, I ordered another pair of shocks to match the front. Should be here this week.
The tube will need some support in the middle. The hubs are trailer spindles and hubs, 4 on 4 bolt pattern. Most all golf cart rims are 4 on 4 so there's plenty of options.
Here is the new steering knuckle in progress. The old design did not give enough steering angle. So I scrapped them and will be laying the heim horizontal. Bolting the heim joints down into the spindle. Using a 1/2" heim on top and 3/4" on bottom.
