Free shipping for limited time at Mulligans Turf Parts

Just thought I'd give you all a heads up on some decent deals on tires. I was on Mulligan's turf Parts email list due to a recent order I placed for a tractor belt and they are now running a deal on free ground shipping on all orders through 5-23-11. I noticed that they have tires that are...

    Harbor Freight sidewalk sale

I got one today. They had quite a few on the shelves. With a 20% off coupon (which are very easy to find these days), it was only $72 plus tax.

Can't wait to see some clones of this....

That's what I initially had in mind but if the outer tube size is smaller than about 2 inches, you wouldn't be able to fit the inner piece between the urethane rods. The basic idea is right but you have to assume an outer tube size, place the rods in each of the corners and measure/compute the...

Can't wait to see some clones of this....

1.5 inch square tube would be too small if the insert rod is 1/2 inch. If it the outer tube has an inside diameter of 1.5 inches, with a 1/8" wall, that would make it 1 3/4" tube and that would make the insert about 0.6" square.

Do you have any thoughts on the size of the outer housing and the part of the knuckle that fits between the rods? It's hard to tell for sure how these items are sized but we do know the diameter of the rods. The attached image shows what I had envisioned. That would make the inside dimension...

Can't wait to see some clones of this....

Anyone else want to try? Here is a link to some inexpensive urethane rod (95 A hardness) on ebay. $8 for a 24" length of rod (plus shipping).

The nice thing about the urethane is that you could set it up with urethane bars of different hardness to fine tune the suspension for the kind of ride you are looking for. It would be neat to try the bars with a softer and harder rating than the 90 durometer used by this kart and see how the...

Can't wait to see some clones of this....

Yea, they shouldn't have spec'd it out in the parts diagram so completely. You can find 90 durometer (hardness) 5/8" urethane rod HERE for a good price (relatively to what they want for the part). This was the first one I came across, you could probably find it for less by shopping around...

Can't keep engine running - need ideas!

The gasket kit seemed to do the trick. The old gasket between the carb and the tank was in really bad shape so it was probably sucking air somewhere. It now runs fine without being set to full choke. I've used seafoam on my vehicles but never on a 4-cycle. I wonder if it would do some good...

Can't keep engine running - need ideas!

Thanks for the info. For the high speed jet adjustment, what I've read is to back the screw off 1.5 turns from being fully closed. I've tried backing it off even more but that doesn't seem to help. I'm hoping that it's just sucking some air somewhere it shouldn't be. It may be that the...

Can't keep engine running - need ideas!

Hunter, I'm having a similar problem with my carb except that it just wants to run under full choke. Any time I cut back on the choke, it dies. I have the carb with the dual pickup tubes and the small cup tank in side the main tank. I took the carb off and found the small pickup tube to be...

    cutting metal - dirt devil

Heh! I just did that for the first time the other day using my 7 inch grinder. I was wearing a flannel shirt and one of my shirttails was directly in the path of the sparks. I started to feel a little warmth down there and saw that it was starting to catch. I whipped that shirt off and...

To weld or not to weld

You could drill and tap it for a set screw (as you mentioned) or get some collars that have set screws.

What is the control bracket on a 5HP Briggs?

I'm building a kart using an old tiller motor (Briggs 5HP - Model 135200) and it has what is called a control bracket mounted to the engine under the gas tank. What is this for? Will I use this for anything? It seems to be separate from the throttle control but I wasn't sure if it was used as...

need to remove belt drive off crankshaft

I just pulled one with a 3-jaw puller after sanding and lubing the crank shaft. It still took a lot of effort to get it off and the old pulley was destroyed in the process (it was a thinner, stamped metal type rather than a casting). I ended up getting out the impact wrench to attach to the...

    #35 Chain

I just bought a 10' roll of #35 chain and only need about 4-5 feet of it. If you need some and would like to split the cost, PM me. It will be about $10 plus a few bucks for shipping.
