    Clean strip paint stripper

15 minutes and it ripped the paint right off the seat frame and smaller parts. I figure a couple cans so I can do 2 or three coats and I can greatly speed up the process of going through the streaker with the blue engine.

    Clean strip paint stripper

I tried out some of the clean strip paint stripper that comes in a spray paint style can and it made the job go a lot quicker. I’m gonna be using this stuff instead of a wire wheel from now on. The one warning is breathing this stuff in gets you a free ticket to another dimension.

    Governor ADJUSTMENT (delete?)

I’m guessing there is no flywheel or slide carb upgrade. A simple intake/carb would delete the governor and make hooking up a throttle cable very very easy! Just a thought to look into. Even though it would make hooking the cable up safe and easy the governor delete isn’t the safest thing...

    Streaker gokart refresh

319cc and these things just don’t die…. The engines themselves are massive cast iron 8hp k181s models and they come on wheelhorse tractors. I bolted the wheelhorse engine mount to the streaker engine mount so I could mount the engine up to the stock 5hp plate. The eBay header and vm22 bolt on...

Sadly my phone just doesn’t display the videos.. The carburetor should have two screws to adjust. One for the idle and one for the mixture. There are fixed jet non adjustable carburetors. Those carburetors only have an idle adjustment. Don‘t mess with any of that yet. BUT so you have an idea...

Ok so I’m still confused you are able to ride it but it’s slower with the torque converter and has worse acceleration? If that’s the case I would also ask like Sparkwizard did how the engine revs out. Before the engine only had to throw the clutch weights out for the driver pulley clutch setup...

    Streaker gokart refresh

I thought I had a thread on this but I guess not. The very first ever streaker I ever purchased with the big proud to be an American flag on it has been completely torn down stripped then painted. It will get all new hardware and bearings anything that can be new will be. Waiting on parts now...

I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed  From the one picture I just scrolled past Sparkwizard is correct the belt is way to long I’m guessing under load it’s not only slipping on the driver but also not opening the driven. He is making progress and I looked back is that a 12t sprocket...

The Murray explorer in question has some big tires on the back. And I‘m not exactly understanding the output spins backwards? Is the kart trying to drive in reverse?

I brought up the sleeve inside the jackshaft. He probably had no idea about it and I assume it’s there. I was highlighting that sleeve to show a local tractor supply option of what to use outside of the bearings. He just needs to buy a very short $3 sleeve and cut a very small piece off the end...

If you haven't gotten the jackshaft slid over a bit like you were talking about earlier and you haven’t got the bearings out or anything tore down I assume the sleeve is in there. So if the sleeve is still in there like mine still was when I got the kart we don‘t have to worry about it. I was...

The sleeve is on the axle inside of the jackshaft tube have you got the bearing out of either side of the jackshaft to see inside to see if there is a sleeve over the axle? If there is not one I do not know how the bearings don‘t side load when you tighten the nuts on the jackshaft down. I...

Ahhhh crud I’m late anyways I have questions myself. You do have the jackshaft sleeve that stops the bearings from side loading when you crank the nut on each of the jackshaft tight? The only local option I can give you is PA has tractor supply’s they have a hardware section with 3/4 standard...

I was thinking slide the jackshaft over to the left. Also yes the driven pulley CANNOT slide to far onto the jackshaft as when you tighten the nut down it will hit the end of the threads before it tightens against the pulley. It HAS to overhang the threads just a bit. If you have the jackshaft...

Nahhh with how much money I spent building a Briggs when I should of built a non hemi 212cc I’m sure others here have also spent good money on stuff they found out later could of been done better cheaper. It’s really just driving home that if you waste all your cash on parts that don’t work and...

Everyone on here is just a little unsure everything is going to work together. From the experience I have on my karts jackshaft very similar to the one in question and your measurements I believe we can say there is a very good chance the 3/4 CVT driven pulley WILL fit his jackshaft once he...

We are just getting things on track I thought??? Back to what we were saying. Remove the nut on each side of this jackshaft. And REMOVE ALL WASHERS USED AS SPACERS and the mower style pulley on there now. Without the giant stack of washers I bet the jackshaft is long enough to accommodate the...

I meant homemade drive system. You’re adapting an eBay CVT to a gokart jackshaft. Factory’s set up karts that way but your kart might not have had the system from the factory. Next we look at the picture of your kart. Is that a thick c-sprocket or a big stack of washers? If that’s a thick...

For a cvt with backing plate ya I was looking at your pictures again and the whole entire axle would need removed so you can put the axle sprocket on the other side of the kart. One option is to just get a 3/4 c-sprocket and change the gear on the stock setup? You can pull the whole axle out...

You’re going to have to measure out and buy a custom length comet belt. The 30 series cvt kit complete with backing plate has a non adjustable pulley spacing and belt that I’m almost guaranteeing won’t match the spacing of the custom cvt jackshaft system your in the process of making. Next...
