Alright Yuri, we have been patient with you, but we want more information on the sled/ski machine. Please make a thread on your machine and post 1,000 photos. 😊
It’s summer now, do you have anything with wheels or tracks?
On sale now, June 1 but you have to be an ITC member if you want it before Friday the 5th ....
Member deal expires on the 4th? Does that mean it will exclude ITC folks from buying it after the 4th but when “everyone saves” 5th through the 7th?
I might have to get one.
This might be the manual for your kart, 485B (5 HP) or 486B (6 HP) Tecumseh OHV engines. The manual shows a throttle linkage diagram but it’s almost worthless:

I’m all for...
Seems like you have things in hand. I think people routinely discard the factory muffler in favor of a pipe so I was surprised to see a link to the exhaust deflector. That is a common upgrade though and works well.
If the deflector is unsuitable with the limited range of angles it gives you...
I looked at it again, and Bubba sure welded it up pretty good. Might be hard to get a cut-off wheel in there to get it loose from the spindle arm, unless it’s a small diameter one 2” or so. But anything is possible, utilizing some patience on the parts you have to make them look nice.
Cut where...
I’d just touch it up where the rust is the worst with a closely matching gray color, get it running and RIDE! Then you can go gaudy later. 👠💍🦄 Ooops, too late, you already started. 😳
I have nothing to suggest because people don’t tend to go all gaudy on these, they mod the ENGINE and maybe add...
Oh dear. Rose62’s new photos remind us of the “economy of space” the original engine configuration afforded with its whole tank mounted carburetor assembly situated to the rear while the plain front or right side of the engine is snug up against the seat back. The tank-mounted-carb really is a...
Here’s an illustration of a Manco 297 front-end. Parts 26 and 27 are Nut, 3/8-16 Toplock and Bolt, 3/8-16 x 1.50” respectively. Just throwing the hardware sizes out there because your existing tie-rod end may have a 3/8” bore as well.

Functional Artist explained it super well. But I must say, Bubba (the half-witted previous owner) strikes again! I’ve never seen a double ball joint steering setup before. Wild. 🤯 Maybe it was designed to simulate drunk driving or something? 🤔
Cut off and discard the lower ball joint/tie rod...
Or what about splitting the seam and installing a smaller tank, like the teardrop one I posted, then gluing/plastic-welding it back together? The tank could be anything, even a soup can with a filler neck brazed on 🤪
How much fuel endurance/fuel economy does one need for a vintage collectable...
I’m stating the obvious for many, but Tecumseh ran the fuel hose across the front of the engine under the blower shroud, which seems “wrong“ but at least it has a fresh supply of forced air at all times.
Would love to see a photo of it installed.
How about this style variation? Could be your style or the other that was originally on the OP newoldkart’s kart... IF he wanted to attempt a restore with a new decal....

You might try one of these. All steel, not correct or original but will serve the part:
