Just saw this, apparently fresh off the presses. $145.99 :ack2:

Now who's gonna be our guinea pig and buy one? Commandant Spangler? 🪖

As is often the case, fake or doctored photos are par for the course. Of course the guy is gritting his teeth and struggling with the pull starter; he's not even holding the T handle, he's pulling a pixel rope drawn on the photo. 😳

There are also these...

You need to buy one of those too. 😊

I've seen that crank style demonstrated; it seemed to me you'd have to enjoy the novelty of cranking the ratchet each time (winding the spring) and then hitting the release. The kick type has the virtue of being able to give 'er the boot over and over again with a strong leg (versus an arm), that is not so easily tired out. The crank style won't tire you out either as you are just winding a spring, I just meant it sounds awful tedious especially if the engine does not start the first time.

I assume that's a chianees-a product? Shame it can't be made in the USA.

They better lower the price on it, that's as much as an engine nowadays. Maybe in 20 years after they pay off their tooling costs, right? Rotaderp 212s are $149.99.

I really hate how he starts every nut and bolt with an impact.

Then again, he probably knows what hes doing. Not me.

-But the kickstart itself isnt looking too practical. Hard to fit an air filter and I dont see side covers holding up to that force, over and over.

I was thinking of the durability of the rope and recoil starter. These don't often break in my experience, not with the nylon/polyester rope we have these days but it could break. I bet they broke all the time back in the olden days when they were made of cotton or natural fibers. ...

Then I was thinking what if you're out really riding the trails far from home and the rope breaks during a respite. You could be stranded. I might have to get proficient in starter rope replacement and pack along some 550 paracord.
