You can buy a new 212 and all the stuff to build an engine that will out perform a ghost for the same price if not a tad cheaper.
Even in cars, everyone over sizes the carbs.
This leads to lazy airflow and poor fuel atomization.
A smaller bore will actually work better up to a point.
The larger bore carb will also come with larger jets.

A simple kart can be just a box frame. Throw some axle hangers and spindles on and go.
There's plans for a common suspension type kart called "grand daddy" if i remember right.
