Installing lights on Carter Bros Lightning

So the kids and I decided our go kart needed lights for those days we can't just quit early. We found a rechargeable battery from a power wheels motorcycle. The battery is 12v 9.5 ah. Bought some Chinese LED strips on ebay (about $12) and a set of LED water proof lights (chinese also--should be...

Yeah. The spindle is all welded construction. I know eventually I'll have to replace it and I already started looking for replacements. Thanks for the advice on the clamps. I initially was going to use those but iI thought these will be better... It's always good to hear from experienced...

    Greetings from south FL

I bought it used from a listing on Craigslist. Since it was a good deal and it started (and still starts) on the first pull, I bought it right away. The next day a bunch of issues surfaced: Leaking gas: I had to replace the gas line, carburetor reservoir o-ring, and then the seat seal. Right...

What tires are best for pavement? long lasting.

It seems that I will need to replace all 4 tires soon. I believe my kids will do most of their riding on pavement with occasional off road (dirt). Does it make a difference if I get Turf tires or 'straight rib' tread? Which will last longer on pavement? thanks

is there a real difference between cables?

I think, aside from the ends the only difference I see is the thickness. The brake cable looks to be about 1/8" and the throttle seems to be 1/16". I replaced my brake cable with 1/8" wire cable sold at home depot.

Nooby question on Split rims and installing/changing tires

I see but the thing is that when I loosen the big nut the tire assembly doesn't come off the spindle; well, at least not easily...but if it did the hub would come out with it. I guess I have to play with it a bit more. thanks

Nooby question on Split rims and installing/changing tires

Hi, I'm a bit confused. I recently bought a used go kart and I had to remove one of the front tires to straighten a bent spindle. There were (there are) 4 bolt heads (bolts holding the rim together to the hub) and a 3/4" axle screw holding -- what I think-- the hub to the axle?? So the point is...

Looking for owner's manual on a Carter Lightning SX 2008 (2966)

Hi, I'm new to go karts and I recently bought a used one for the kids. The kart is a Carter Bros. Lightning SX 2008. The model is 2966-1017. I've found sites with specs including basic information but I would like to have a manual with a parts diagram to help me familiarize myself with it; and...
