my friend built a one-and-a-half-seater go kart with a 3.5 horse briggs. It will only go 12 with two people in it, but it does 18 with one. Plus, it's pretty lightweight and only about eight inches long. but don't be expecting to look cool peeling out with a little engine like that.
im on a psp so i cant do youtube.
i guess 15 mph is possible but the problem still exists that you would not be able to keep using the kart all day long with the recharging of the battery.
sorry to be a buzzkill, but now way in hell are you gonna make a kart that fast with a bunch of electric motors. ps i did see ONE guy do 30 in an electric kart but the batteries were enormous and it died after three minutes.
this thread should be in the Electric projects section.
that engine that guy was using was only getting 2mph/3.6kilometers per hour... not really ideal for a go kart. but if there is some law in your country prohibiting you from using gas then i would try to find a golf cart electric engine and...
ok some of these subtleties to the parts are not so easy to comprehend...
im not sure what kind of clutch would fit this engine

also has anyone used this clutch because it is getting some piss-poor consumer reviews...
