I'm pretty sure its not the ratio because it was working just fine... the clutch doesn't even begin to engage, which leads me to believe it has internal problems.

I am working on taking it apart right now, will let you all know what I find. Thanks for the suggestions.

Is there any way to stretch the spring somehow do you know?

This clutch has one continuous spring... how would i pull a couple coils wouldn't that make it tighter?

the spring does seem a bit tight... do you know how i can adjust it?

It doesn't even heat up, which really surprises me.

I have a Briggs and Stratton engine I think it is around 5 hp. Then mounted on it I have a centrifugal clutch... When the engine gains rpm and the clutch has sufficient speed to engage, it won't engage. It is a fairly new clutch. anyone know whats wrong? thanks all, Nik

The cylinder is somewhat scraped up but I think it would still work. I found a used engine on Craigslist for real cheap and it runs good so I solved that problem. Thanks for the advice though.

Ok, so one of the rings on my piston snapped. Now I think I will probably just be getting a new engine. But thanks for all your help everybody I'll let you know how this turns out -Nik

The gasket is slightly hardened but is still pliable.

The carb has a gasket where it attaches to the engine so i don't think its leaking there. I will try to clean the jets tho. Thanks

Hi, I need some new rear wheels for my go-kart. I would need 2 that have a 6 inch diameter or less, and that fit on a 3/4inch D-shaft axle. Looking for something pretty cheap. Let me know if you might have something. Thanks, Nik

Hello, I have a go kart engine and it won't idle right. I've tried adjusting it using the idle screw but that doesn't help, anyone know what I should try next? Thanks, Nik

Thanks for replying... First of all, it is an old engine. I did clean out the carbeurator very well and I did notice a difference in how the engine ran but it did not affect the idle. Thanks.
