It's a Honda again.

I used Google SketchUp to finish my basement and it worked great. You just have to take the time to learn to use it. You can't just jump on and go, but any software will be the same. Using software is kinda like a paint job...a good job is in 99% prep work.

I agree. And the tank isn't really even white, it's a stupid cream colored white...just lame. I don't have a problem with the red, but my kids want a blue cart and insisted the engine be blue too. This project is for the kids, so I'm going with as much of their input as I can.

I planned on painting the frame the same color, but I don't think I have the patience to deal with this paint again.

I plan on getting a new emblem for it. I went to one "dealer" today, but they couldn't figure out how to order it and told me to go to another dealer. I'll try again next week. The paint is Dupli-Color Metalcast Anodized Surface Color System and it's a total pain in the *** and NOT...

Gas tank painted, buffed and re-attached.

Not too worried about it. I have three boys that will be riding it. That engine will NEVER have the chance to move on to another owner, they'll drive this thing into the ground.

New paint on go kart engine. Nothing like spending the money on a brand new, out of the box Honda engine and painting it up to look like a cheap Harbor Freight clone. Oh well, I wanted the engine to be the same color as the kart.

Probably going to go with the 60 rear sprocket for now to keep the speed reasonable for the kids. Picked up a new Honda GX200 today.

Right now, I'm thinking a 5.5 or 6 horse with 37 tooth sprocket and 12 tooth clutch, but I'm a total noob and more than open to suggestions.

Some forward progress has been made. Many hours trying to figure out how to do the axle (I think I'm getting closer to a plan) and many more layers of paint have started to disappear. Forward progress! (I definitely need to take a break and clean up my garage before anymore pictures are...

I've decided on doing a 1" live axle, but I am going to get it on this frame. The shaft that the bolts go into is bent, so it has to go anyways.

What do you think about doing a set up like this one?

That kart looks great! I picked up an old yard cart frame this week that I am building. Do you have any other pics you can post to give me some ideas?
