    Is this a rupp?

Got a pic of the nameplate on my kart today, does anyone know what brand/model it is? It looks similar to the late 60s early 70s rupps ive seen but im not sure, it does have dual motor mounts as seen in the pic there was a toolbox mounted on the right motor mount

i can always mount a thicker metal plate on the front of the sidecover just incase.

so do you think it would frag if i just put a 22mm flat slide carb on? It is the kind with the fins cast into the wheel. I believe you when you say it weighs 10 lbs., that engine is HEAVY for its size. That's probably all i will do, maybe with a thinner copper head gasket.

im using it right now becuase its all i have at the moment, and i really like briggs engines. However, i am considering going to harbor freight and getting a predator 212 for 120 bucks. A billet flywheel for the Briggs is probably around the same price as a brand new 212 which i know has tons...

Ya I've heard about those rods, but tbh I'm more worried about the flywheel than the rod, I've heard many people say that the cast iron ones can explode at ungoverned rmps And the shrapnel can go through your back like a frag grenade, or mabey some people are over exaggerating idk. Anyway I will...

I dont think its safe to remove the governor until i have a flywheel that can withstand the extra rpm.

Ok thanks for the measurements, would a 3hp flywheel be a safe replacement for the 5hp flywheel? If not where can i find a cast aluminum one.

I have a Tecumseh intake and bowl carb, i think the carb is junk though i had it on the engine before and it sucked.

reason i ask is because i cant get to the kart in storage right now to measure it and id like to order a carb.

I just may do that mabey this summer. Any idea what the components of this jackshaft are or how I could make something similar mabey withe pillow bearings? Just seems a lot easier than making a live axle, I have lots of chain laying around and sprockets are pretty cheap

Now this looks like something I actually could accomplish, just don't know where to start on building a jack shaft like that

Unfortunately i dont have a welder otherwise i would have had a dual engine kart made by now LOL. My plans are to just mod the engine i have. I know it may not be the perfect kart to hot rod, or engine, but this is what i got and im just looking to make the most of it. In a couple years I...

So ur saying that its possible to run dual briggs engines? I see ur making a live axle with pillow blocks there?
