    Project Stoopid!

I vote for adjustable and lockable. If it were a normal situation where chain tension was controlled by sliding the engine, would you want it spring loaded or bolt down tight?

Yes. Don't buy the Amazon cheapie. We usually get what we pay for.

Two Seat To One Seat Conversion

Now that's the kind of hitchhiker I want to give a ride to. I've also got a lot of experience, ( no not that kind.) I've hitchhiked across the United States 3 times. Didn't think I was any trouble at all. Just glad to get the ride.

    ID chassis

Welcome. What is that big square thing welded on the back? Doesn't look like it belongs there. Great age for your son to start driving a motorized vehicle. You won't believe how far ahead he'll be when it's time to get a drivers license.

    Carter KPX Info

Why not " done and enjoyed ". Hope you had a little bit of fun with it first. You did a nice job with it. Finished kart looks really good.

    New Build Mini Monster Kart

Welcome to the forum Gramps. Just like me. Post # 2 list two very good places that carry a huge variety of just about anything you could possibly need to build your project. I have done a lot of business with both for several years and can recommend them with confidence. Don't forget those...

    Got bored this weekend

Man, you must really be bored. Looks like a horrible waste of time. Maybe take a midday nap or something a little more productive.

    Suspension

Here are a few pictures of mine. When I got it, it was in horrible condition. I changed the seats, 60 tooth sprocket, 20" knobbies on rear, 15×6 turf tires up front, and installed some new pedals to get a little more leg room. One Grandson went from 5'8" to 6'3" in about 2 years. You...

    Suspension

I have that very same kart, only with a predator 224. We absolutely love it. Stock suspension just like yours. The suspension is to smooth out the ride. It's not going to be a jumping machine like a modern side by side.

Adding fuel gauge to shallow tank

Just refill the tank after each use. That way it is always full. How old is your Grandson? If he's old enough to go riding unsupervised by himself, he's old enough to refuel the kart. Most karts don't have fuel gages.

Silver Fox and a Bald Guy

You are running a stock carb. When you are through with using it for the day, shut off the gas and let the engine die from starvation. You shouldn't have any leaks that way.

Two Seat To One Seat Conversion

Master Hack said exactly what I was going to say. Just put a U-joint in the shaft and angle the steering column to the center. If you like rack and pinion that's on there now, I sure as h@ll wouldn't trade it for anything from Amazon. FWIW, bought some rear view mirrors for my little buggies...

Torque Converter not opening up when wheels are on the ground.

I'm with Jim. I think they shipped you the next size bigger belt by accident. Do you have the belt oriented properly? Almost looks like you have the flat side out. Maybe just the picture. Flat side needs to be in on the engine side. About 7 inches really isn't close enough. Go on the belt chart...

Silver Fox and a Bald Guy

Didn't watch the video. Don't need to. In the picture of post #43 the one on the left is correct. You CAN'T put it together wrong, at least as far as the winding goes. That is determined by the winding of the spring. That is why the reverse wound spring is necessary. All 40 clutches come wound...
