    Kart hauler idea... thoughts?

Folks: So, now that the Manco is done, I need to haul it to places it can be ridden. Un-used parking lots and such, on weekends, a few miles away over well-maintained public roads. Problem is that I've no trailer, and really nowhere to park one. I'd thought about a HF folding trailer (and make...

Predator 212 and TAV2 knockoff: fitment issues

OK. Got a Comet 30 TAV2 knockoff (asymmetrical belt) for the Manco Dingo I've been working on. Not totally impressed with the fit of this unit to the engine. Main issue is alignment of drive pulley to driven pulley. The drive pulley is ~1/4" inboard (towards engine) closer than it should be...

Live axle convert to 1-wheel driven

I've been working on a live axle kart (Dingo), finally had a chance to drive it today. I'm not totally digging the live axle with both wheels locked to rotating axle... this thing is going to be on the street most (all) of the time, and it makes it more difficult to turn. Can I just pull the...

Dingo brake band has no retainer screw...

Another couple Dingo 285 questions. I've a new axle, brake drum, and key for my kart. Brake drum has no retaining screw... it just floats back and forth. Assume that the fingers on the brake band are supposed to keep this sucker from walking off to the side? Drawing for 285 shows no retaining...

Need length for Manco Dingo arm rests / tube covers

Can someone with a stock manco dingo 285 measure the length of the arm rests / tube covers on the cart? Making new ones up and would like to get right length... Since the headrest was made to look stock and I have the material going all in ;)

Setting up floating rear axle, Manco Dingo

Setup questions on the rear axle on the Manco Dingo I'm working on. I'm not that familiar with these floating axle setups. The whole axle can move side to side through the frame bearings. What prevents it from doing it are the wheels and spacers between the wheel and bearing. I have the stock...

Any market / sellers for Manco rubber washers

Folks: I've been rebuilding a basket case Manco Dingo, and have had a heck of a time finding rubber washers for the Manco carts that go between the plates on the engine cage, and between the cage and the seat. They're hard to find, and >$1/pc sold separately. Two questions: 1) Does anyone...

Harbor Freight 6.5 hp motor... What to check before starting?

Still can't get over how cheap these engines are. Aside from filling with new oil anything else I should check before starting? Valve clearances? Thanks.

    Manco Dingo restoration

Thought I'd post these pics up here, since I've been taking photos as I go along. Pulled this thing off the curb; thanks to the board was able to ID the frame. Seriously considered parting it out, as the frame had been sawn up, including axle. Turns out PO hooked a 17hp motor to cart with no...

Need headrest size / dimensions for Manco Dingo

Hey all, can someone with a Dingo measure the height / width of the stock headrest and post it here? Assume it's 2" deep like back and bottom. Re-building a Manco Dingo. Missing seat bottom and back is shot, so making up templates to scratch build some new ones. The back and bottom were...

Help ID this go kart manufacturer

Oh my, really? I know what I'm doing with this frame then... it's getting parted out. Hadn't even thought to check used prices for parts as I didn't know the manufacturer. Pic below is what I'm dealing with here. PO sawed a section from frame, including a 3" section from the axle. The axle cut...

Help ID this go kart manufacturer

Folks: Could use help IDing this kart frame. Curb pick; appears prior owner used it for pieces of steel (including a 3" section of the drive axle, of all things.) Would like to know who made it so I can search for pictures of what it looked like originally.
