    Race prep mower transmission

I have and old H-shift pattern 3 speed transmission off of a murray ride one, I read somewhere that they were rare and worth something? If they are it would surprise me. Anyway I opened it up and found out that it doesn't use shift keys and instead has the motorcycle type of transmission with...

    Race prep mower transmission

Ahh okay that what I was thinking. ---------- Post added at 10:34 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:33 AM ---------- I wonder how well that transaxle would hold up to down shifting.

    Race prep mower transmission

Do people shift when they're racing their race lawnmowers with "race prepped" trannys? Or is it more of a-put-it-in-the-gear-you-want-and-go kinda deallio. Thanks, Nick

    Self propelled lawnmower transmission

On those self propel lawnmowers with the 3 speed transmission what type of clutch do they have?

    Motorized bike clutch

Yeah I know it's true, I probably wont actually do anything for a while, or until I get a proper shop set up.:toetap05:

Are they ever going to come back?

And then I will get a real tig welder.

    Motorized bike clutch

Yeah it's quite ambitious. :smiley_omg: Also you think making an HHO welder is silly? It might be but I'm still going to make one (a cheapish one) and if it doesn't work I'll have a new and easy way to make explosions. :wai:

    Motorized bike clutch

Well I was planing on building the engine... I was thinking about making a small OHV 400cc (or whatever size, more then 6.5hp) v-twin, I would use the pistons and cam and maybe crankshaft from a gx200 and I would make the cylinders, crankcase, heads, and all that good stuff. Also I would have...

    Motorized bike clutch

Pretty much the engine would turn that large gear. When engaged the sprocket turns, but when a pin/dowel/whatever you shove down there pushes the rod in the hole through that nut (image 3) it disengages the dry plate. Image 4 shows the spring and bearings. I could make little bearing hangers or...

    Motorized bike clutch

Well I actually have the whole assembly and it is really simple.

    Motorized bike clutch

Lol true. ---------- Post added at 09:39 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:36 PM ---------- A clutch from a motorized bike kit. Like this..... http://www.bikeberry.com/engine-kit-parts/2-stroke-clutch/complete-2-stroke-clutch-rebuild-kit.html I would have to make a little housing for...

    Motorized bike clutch

Well a cent. clutch wouldn't disengage instantly if I let off the throttle. I want to have no power going to the gearbox so it will last longer and not wear out. ---------- Post added at 05:48 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:47 PM ---------- And lol if it works out and works well then...

    Motorized bike clutch

I was thinking of using a peerless transmission (I have read all of the bad things that can happen, but it's free and I want to try it out :wai:) but I want a clutch that ain't a belt tensioner system. I was thinking I could use the clutch system off a motorized bike. I am guessing the pads...

    Where'd they go?

Oh well shame, it would've been nice for a finished version.
