    Flywheel?

You are right. It's nowhere near 30lbs, more like 10. I don't know where I got 30 from. Probable the motor with flywheel. My flywheel is mounted on the opposite side of drive shaft. I'll probably try it both ways and see what feels better.

    90v 11.8A Motor, need controller

I read up a little on torque from electrical motors and it seems to be somewhat universal. The faster they spin the less torque they have. This motor should have about 1.3 ft/lbs at 2600 rpm.

    90v 11.8A Motor, need controller

I just got my setup out for a test run today. The speed and acceleration were not what I expected. Either my controller is causing a problem or the motor isn't powerful enough. I have ordered an awesome controller. 72-300v 250a. Got lucky on eBay. I don't think it's the motor because the...

    Flywheel?

Electric motor. You should coast longer but any energy released from the flywheel had to be first put there by the batteries running the motor. Since that storage device can't be 100% efficient, there should be even more loss. Not gain. I know it works, I just don't get it.

    Flywheel?

I understand that adding a flywheel can increase range on an EV. How? Flywheels just store energy, they can't make it. Are people around here using flywheels? If so what are your results. I have a 30lb wheel that I took off my mortar. Should I put it back on?

    need troubleshooting help

Try to charge the batteries one at a time. I believe you have one or two bad batteries that are causing your charger to shut off. if they all charge up to 13.5-13.6 then you may need a better charger. are all the batteries the exact same and very close in age. I've heard but have no solid info...

    Hybrid Kart Project

look at battery switches that go on boats for switching between charging batteries A and batteries B. often boats have multiple batteries for starting the engine and running on board electronics and require the type of switch you are after.

    Battery Question

amp hours refers to how many amps a battery can provide for 1 hour. if you have 20Ah then you can provide 20 amps of power for 1 hour, or 10 amps for 2 hours, or 40 amps for 1/2 hour. the amount of amps you are using is your volts/watts. your 1000 motor divided by 36v means it will draw 27.7...

    wiring

If you did indeed get the controller with the throttle then you have everything you need. The wiring is pretty simple you have to wires, positive and negative, coming from the batteries to the controller. And then two wires from the controller going to the motor also positive and negative. The...

    90v 11.8A Motor, need controller

I have an old treadmill 90V DC motor that I have put on a Razor electric cart. I have replaced the speed controller with a 50V 40A PWM. Right now I have two sets of 4 12V batteries in series then paralleled the sets together for more run time. I would like to series all 8 batteries together so I...
