    Exhaust headers question

Basically, how much of an exhaust do you need to avoid burning the valve? Reason I ask is because I have an old honda gxv390 mounted on a riding mower it was never designed for, and the muffler does not fit, and the stock manifold will only fit if i cut the flange off the end. Will the few...

1978 Fun Wheels Inc. Subaru BRAT Promotional Go-Kart

Thats actually so cool! I love old car memorabilia like this. Never heard of car firms building promotional go karts though. Id keep it as a time capsule. Maybe make it safe as far as the running gear, tires, ect. are concerned but yeah leave the patina.

    Gx390 build almost done

About to rebuild one of these myself (vert shaft version). Cool little motors they are, pretty refined considering they are for industrial/agricultural use. Yours came out great

Want To Give It A Try!

Love the old school briggs twin. 340 should be good enough.

how does an engine transfer power?

Holly crap, my mind is blown. I am struggling to make sense of this. The basic principles between a car and a go kart are very similar. In a car, you can have independent suspension, but let's explain this simply and use a live axel rear wheel drive layout to make sense of this situation. You...

    Buying used gokart

IS that a genuine honda or a clone? Check spark, change fluids, give carby a good clean out, might need valves to be clearanced.

    Onan twin cyl information?

As far as go kart-ish projects are concerned I have only really seen Onans used in modded lawnmowers used as workhorses or offroading/mudding. Would be kinda cool to see a modded one though. You could check over the points and general ignition system for any faults. Make sure it is sparking...

    Gearing Ride-on

Is your motor horizontal or vertical drive? If its horizontal, you may have to use a RAGB (right angle gearbox) which is basically a 1:1 ratio right angle diff type of thing. Your will also need a clutch or torque converter on your motor. As far as the wheels are concerned, I have not taken mine...

    Gearing Ride-on

I am also building a Victa ride on racer! What model is yours? Mines an 80's pro12. From what I have heard, you put a larger pulley on the front and a smaller one on the rear. Do not take this as truth as it may be incorrect, do your research on that. Exact ratios and such are things I am yet to...

    Hello from Australia

Thanks. it's a work in progress, by that I mean I have an engine which works but I'm not sure if I want to use it, an engine which I would prefer to use but it needs a fair bit of work and a bike frame which is stripped. Yeah who knows where that will end up. I should post a build thread on it...

12 horse Briggs or Honda gxv390?

Hey all, Some background on the question, I have been faced with abit of a dilemma as of late. I am building up an old 80s victa ride on mower to create some sort of frankinstein racer/farm hack type of thing. The mower was originally aquired with a seized up flathead 12 horse Briggs which has...
