Well it was very simple indeed. There is NO brake material left on the band. After looking it appears to be cheapest and best just to buy a new band. Thanks!

That's impressive. My 8 year old wants to help me but I can't figure out what he can do to help. It's not terribly easy for me. When I need small hands I'll ask him to help me or help getting tools or to hold something in place. He wants to do more though.

Nice tires. Are all four the same size? Did you get the engine running? Depending on the gearing, 5hp is pretty powerful. My yerfdog has a 6.5hp with a Comet 30 torque converter and I'm not so sure my 8 year old can handle it. I might try to set a limit on the throttle.

This is off subject but you might know, how's the easiest way to quiet one down? I've heard of using a small car muffler, have you heard of anything else? You may want yours louder with that open header but that means you may know how to make it quieter. Any ideas would be appreciated. I...
