In this pic th guy just set the engine on there.. He put it the oter way when he mounted it so it drives forward... So how do i install the brakes?

Ok so my friend has this old go kart.. Its a 2 speed. No reverse just 2 speed forward with a clutch pedal an a shifter to the right of the seat.. I was wanting to do this but idk how... I would like to have 4 or 5 speed.. But i want manual transmission like have a clutch pedal.. Any ideas how...

ok so i was thinking of making my go kart belt and chain driven? is this possible? will it make it go faster? and if you had to choose one which is better? belt or chain?
